UTEP Miners Vintage Illustration Tee

Carrying his prospecting gear and dressed like a cowboy, we love this retro rendition of Paydirt Pete. UTEP has used the “Miners” nickname since the university’s founding, but had difficulty settling on a mascot until Pete came about in the ‘70s. Originally, the Miners had a burro mascot named Clyde, accompanied by a student dressed as a prospector. After replacing Clyde with another burro, Henry, the Miners tried a precursor to Paydirt Pete named “Sweet Pete.” Products are mocked up on a size S. Graphics may appear smaller on larger sizes.
