OU 1983 "The Day The Pride Won" Vintage Heavyweight Tee
Sooners young and old know about just how much bedlam ensued during 1983âs Bedlam game, also known as âThe Day the Pride Won.â The Sooners found themselves in an early, 20-3 deficit against rival Oklahoma State, and their band director, Gene Thrailkill was escorted off the sideline for not having a sideline pass. As he was escorted away, Thrailkill told the Pride of Oklahoma band to âstart playing and donât stop til the teamâs ahead!â The Pride took his request to heart and played âBoomer Soonerâ continuously 300 times; in that timeframe, the Sooners mounted a 15-point comeback and won the game on a field goal, 21-20.
