Nebraska Scarlet and Cream Herbie Husker Tee
Originally depicted on vintage buttons to support Big Red, this illustration of Herbie Husker is a fun nod to the Cornhuskers’ mascot. Prior to Herbie, the university tried other mascots to help represent the scarlet and cream, including an oversized mascot named Mr. Big Red/Harry Husker and a figure simply known as Corncob Man. Herbie fit the bill of being appropriately sized (aka, not 10 feet tall like Harry) and more symbolic, while also maintaining a high dose of school spirit.
