Jewel of the Mountains Vintage WVU Football Tee

Called the “Jewel of the Mountains” when it opened, Mountaineer Field was the home of West Virginia’s football team from 1924-1979. The horseshoe shaped stadium was located between Woodburn Hall and the present day Life Sciences Building. The stadium was known for many famous football games including a long standing rivalry with the University of Pittsburgh, known as Backyard Brawl.
