Idaho Vandals Vintage 1940s Logo Ringer Tee
This slightly grumpy version of the Idaho Vandal debuted in the 1940s, about a decade before the âJoe Vandalâ mascot tradition took shape in the â50s. A yell leader named Bill Currie donned a homemade mask and created Joeâs persona. It seems that when Joe Vandal got more cheerful, so did the official logo; Idaho debuted a new logo in 1967 thatâs identical to this, but his expression was changed to a smile.
