In 1978, BU menās ice hockey once again reached the summit of college hockey. Though the team won five consecutive ECAC tournaments in the ā70s, the pinnacle of college hockey eluded them after their 1972 ātriple crown,ā in which the Terriers won the Beanpot, the ECAC tournament, and a national championship in the same year. Though the Terriers didnāt achieve the triple crown in ā78, they still won in iconic fashion, defeating archrival Boston College for their third national title.
